Day 8
Today was another day filled with knowledge. After enjoying toast and cups of coffee, we attended our lesson at Thornton. The lesson was about decision making, which was something new to us. Although we have made tons of decisions before, it was not until today that we finally learned some skills about decision making. During the lesson, we had a chance to encounter the Himalayan Decision. We used the techniques we learned, for example elements like useful information, helpful frame and creativity. We were glad that we have learned so many useful skills that would definitely help us with our future development.
The second lesson was biology. This lesson was extremely exciting, we extracted DNA from a strawberry! It sounds challenging, but it's actually simple. We enjoyed this activity a lot and learned that all living organisms contain DNA. We also learned that SMP, which means changes in DNA, can be caused by mutation, natural selection, migration or random drifting. This lesson was indeed fruitful and enjoyable.
During the evening, we requested to watch Catching Fire. We enjoyed ourselves in the free time with home-made popcorn! It was a relaxing time for us indeed and we loved the warm atmosphere of the house where we could treat ourselves as one family. Later on, we went to the Stanford Bookstore once again to explore ourselves and to broaden our views in other countries' bookstores. It was genuinely a great experience for us and we cherished our time there as well!
