Today was different from the regular weekdays.
We went to Silicon Valley in the morning and visited the Computer History
museum. Last night the counselors told us that we had to spend a whole day in the
museum to read through the whole process of inventing computing appliances. But
when we walked through the museum, we could see how long and how much effort it
took for scientists to invent calculators, printers and computers! They were
really creative to be able to create a computer out of nothing. They indeed
changed the whole world and made history! After the field trip, we went back to
the Stanford campus and had the business and entrepreneurship lesson. Professor
Oh taught us about marketing skills and at the end of the lesson, he really
inspired us in thinking how can we stand out from a thousand of applicants applying
for a place in the university. After dinner, all of us had fun in doing hennas
and tie-dyes in the front launch with another group from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Most of us were the first time having these experiences so we were really
enthusiastic. We helped each other with the hennas, which reflected how
important teamwork is. Although we got our hands stained all over with dyes,
these marks remind us of our wonderful youth.
