14/8/2014 Day 10 Group 2

 

 Today we had the second class on neuroscience and intuitive problem solving in the morning and the afternoon respectively.

 After breakfast, we went to the Thornton Centre for the neuroscience lesson. To begin the class, our teacher Dr. Maral Terajian requested that we ask her questions about neuroscience that we would like to know more about. We then asked a few questions and she answered them patiently in detail. All of us were delighted as our questions were answered and we got to delve even more deeply into topics about neuroscience.

 After that, we watched two clips about the science behind Marvel heroes like Hulk and Captain America. We felt awesome to learn biology and sciences in such a lively and practical way as we can really relate what we learned to things that we encounter in real life.

 We had the intuitive problem solving class in the afternoon. It was really fun and enjoyable as we conducted a lot of experiments. The most unforgettable one was the lemonade test. The teachers gave us citric acid as well as sugar and asked us to add different amounts of powder into 16 cups. We have the opportunity to drink the one with 4 spoons of citric acid and it tasted like hell. We learned a lot about intuition and how to think out of the box. It was truly an amazing experience and it will surely benefit us in the future.

After dinner, we visited the Stanford Shopping Center again! We bought some T-shirts, chocolate and so on. :)

 Tomorrow we are going to visit the Digital Anatomy Laboratory and we are really looking forward to it!
