Day 1
It is the first time for the five of us to visit Stanford University. We were enthusiastic about this trip when we were in Hong Kong and we do hope that we could have a chance to enhance our communication skills with others through learning and attending lessons. Besides, we also hope that this trip would widen our horizons and allow us to explore more about the US culture.
Moreover, we are also looking forward to make new friends and
strengthening the friendships between all of us.
We only know that Stanford University is one of the most prestigious
universities in the world and it is situated in California. As you can tell,
we’re not too familiar with this University, we wish to enrich our knowledge
about the school through campus tours and interactions with the counselors.
We are all eager towards this summer camp and hope that this trip would grant us precious memories in our lives.
Day 2
Today was our second day of the Stanford Study Program. After a wonderful breakfast in Robel house, we had a lesson on Evolutionary Biology. We learned about the structure and use of DNA which we had not learned before. It will definitely be useful for our future studies.
After that, we had a lesson about neuroscience and we learned about the structure of the brain. We had a brief introduction on the nerve system. We also studied cases about how defects in our brain can be identified by our behaviors. We were amazed by the mystery of the brain.
Then, we walked around the campus. We enjoyed the time in the Oval Square since we didn't get any chances to sit on the grass with such fresh air. After the dinner, we visited the statue park, and there, we captured our first group photo.
Overall, we enjoyed the day a lot. We are glad that we are not too affected by the jet-lag.
