DAY7 11-8-14

After a few days of taking off and chilling, classes started again. 

In the morning, we did a writing class on essay writing, teaching us to plan and make drafts. From the teacher's knowledge and good teaching, we felt really relaxed in this literature surrounding, and we hope that we could build more confidence towards this field. During the lesson, we were taught how to do free writing, brainstorming and also arrange the materials we have to out out a great piece of writing. All of us did have our insecurities in writing, for example having no imagination into bringing words to life or having no confidence in spilling out creativity. We believe that through this class we would try our best to put up with  these negatives and try to make the best of it when ever we encounter these difficulties and try to set an opened mind to try and express with words.

After lunch, we did a class talking about persuasive writing and using rhetoric. We did a fun color game and figured out whether some ads are effective or not through the perspective of ethos meaning the level of credibility, pathos meaning the use of emotion and logos the use of organization of information. During the class we also tried to recreate an ad for the famously known, the iPod. Every one contributed their creative juices and we ending up visualizing a good persuasive ad for the iPod. Lastly, we did a persuasive letter on getting our parents to get something we want. This was really an useful class as it could help is through our argumentative essays and also persuasion techniques.

After class, we went to the Stanford Shopping Centre. We went to some shops that we haven't had enough of from yesterday, also we went to See's Candies for some chocolate raisins. Finally finishing up with our shopping,

At meeting there was a surprise for Qianna and Claire's birthdays. We had cake and ice cream. Hope they have a very happy birthday.
