DAY3 7-8-14

What a fruitful day it was! We started the day off with Mathematics at the engineering quad. The topic was quite interesting and useful. We learnt about probability which we could integrate its skill in our daily lives. For example, we learnt about the Bayes' theorem and how sometimes solving probability with our intuition may not be the actual answer by proof. In the afternoon class, the professor talked about the social effects from the Industrial revolution and the world war one. He also did an explanation on the differences between utopia and dystopia in literature. Although we never studied much on humanity subjects, it still was quite fun to unravel questions unknown to us. Furthermore, we did an arts and craft session and we are told to draw pictures of our favorite place in San Francisco and also of a place that we really wished to go. At house meeting we talked about the cultural exchange tomorrow, we brainstormed on things that we wished to do. We really cannot wait! We really hope to make new friends and broaden our knowledge on different cultures. May this event be conducted smoothly.
